Thomas Lasseter Obituary

Thomas Edward
Lasseter
1936-2022
Thomas Edward Lasseter, loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, and Friend died peacefully in Houston, Texas on Wednesday, the 19th of January, 2022. Despite living many years with Parkinson's disease and Dementia, Tom loved unconditionally and lived his life seeing the best in everyone he met. His declining health and challenges were met with grace and dignity that were the hallmark of his life.
Throughout his life Tom took great pride that he was a native Texan, a successful student athlete, and raised in Velasco (Freeport) Texas. Early on he decided on the University of Texas as his destination. He graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering and remained an enthusiastic, life-long and avid fan of all teams UT and a Texas Exes Life Member. He was a registered professional Chemical Engineer in Louisiana and Texas as well as a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.
His parents, Charles Roy and Mary Erwin Lasseter, brother, Charles ('Burr') and his wife, Dorothy Jean Lasseter and nephew, Michael Lasseter predeceased him. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Judith, son Tedmond, daughter Faye and husband Scott, and his step-children whom he always loved and treated as his own, Stephanie Barry, and Michele Howard and husband Wade. He was an adoring Grandfather to Jillian, Olivia and Lillian and enjoyed watching them grow and thrive.
He spent most of his professional career with SIP/Parsons (Worley-Parsons) beginning as a Process Engineer in 1965 and retiring as President 40 years later. Upon retirement Tom lent his expertise to friends at Ref-Chem and S and B Constructors. He Joined the Executive Service Corps of Houston where he provided pro bono consulting services to local organizations and student groups. Tom delighted in many years of friendship and many rounds of golf and activities with his cronies, the Bay Oaks Old Boys at Bay Oaks Country Club in Clear Lake.
Tom's memory will linger in our hearts and souls forever. He is now at peace with the Lord.
We send a heartfelt thank you to the devoted staff members of the Houston Area Parkinson's Society, HAPS, CarePartners, 'The Gathering Place', and many dear friends who have lovingly shared our journey.
Friends are cordially invited to attend a graveside service with the family at 11 on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598. A reception will follow at Forest Park East Funeral Home.
