Tomasa Guilez Obituary
Tomasa Ovalle Guilez, 86, passed away Friday, Feb. 11, 2011, in Alamogordo. She was born Dec. 21, 1924, to Severo and Severiana (Reyes) Ovalle in Socorro.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonicio Guilez; brothers Severo and Albino Ovalle; sisters Beatrice Rey and Frances Barella; and three grandchildren, Vicky Guilez, Lonnie Guilez and Alfred Maxwell.
She is survived by her children Mariano Guilez, of Alamogordo; Mary Keppen and husband, Irven, of Tularosa; Raymond Guilez and wife, Libby, of Tularosa; Lucy Anderson and husband, Roger, of Hillsboro, Mo.; Laura Maxwell and husband, Steve, of Rolla, Mo.; and Joe Guilez and wife Betty of Tularosa.
The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011, at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church in Tularosa. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, at the church with Father Max Hottle, O.F.M., as celebrant.
Pallbearers will be Carlos Rey, Randy Guilez, Gilbert Guilez, Frank Portillo, Dakota Thresher and Irven Keppen. Honorary pallbearers include April Macias, Tina Jones, Melissa Thresher, Roger Anderson and Steve Maxwell.
Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. before the rosary.
The Guilez family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.

Dear Guilez Family-
I was so very saddened to learn of the loss of your precious Tomasa. When someone you love dies, it leaves an empty spot in your hearts which could never be filled by any other person. Soon, in a new world of god's making, all pain, suffering and sickness will be gone forever. Until then, I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Mary, Ramom and the rest of the Guilez family, my condolences to the family for the loss of your mother/grandmother. I remember as a young kid, when mom and dad would take us to visit Tio Nicho and Tia Tomasa. The warmth and love in their hearts was always there. She is now home with the Lord and Tio Nicho. My love and prayers are with you all.

We were saddened to learn of the loss of your mother. Raymond, I still remember how nice your mother was to me all the way back to when you and I "rode the night trails" around the village on our bicicletas. What a nice lady! Our prayers are with you all.
