VERNON ALLRED Obituary

We would like to thank you for joining us today in remembrance of the life of our beloved Vernon Allred, Vernon Allred, affectionately called “Poppy” by family and even his friends. Born in Lufkin, TX on July 21, 1929. On Friday June 22, 2007 at the age of 77, he passed away at his home in Humble, Texas with family at his side. He was baptized in symbol of his dedication to Jehovah God on September 20, 1942 at the young tender age of 13. Serving as a full time evangelizer for several years, Vernon at the age of 16, was appointed as an elder of the congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses and served as a faithful elder until his death. Vernon is survived by his loving wife LaVelle Greening Allred and his endearing children: daughter Deborah and son-in-law Albert Lombardo, son Desmond and daughter-in-law Luana (who preceded him in death), son Darien and daughter-in-law Jennifer Allred. Grandchildren: Ryan and wife Jessica, Sunshine and husband Pete, Brandon and wife Sarah, Ashley, Lance, Chase (who preceded him in death), Justin, Travis, Rachel. Great Grandchildren: Alexis, Colton, Dylan Chase, Cheyenne, Heston, Atlantis, Noah, Maddox, Skylar, Avabella, and two more on the way. He is also survived by his only sister Versie ‘Russell’ Woensdregt and his niece Barbara and her husband Royce Fritz Sr. Other survivors include brother-in-law Felix Howard Greening and countless family members, spiritual children, friends and neighbors. Vernon is preceded in death by his father Thomas Madison Allred and his mother Rutha Evie Bowen ‘Allred’ Landrum; Brothers Reuben Bruce Allred & Denzil Diliffie Allred Paternal Grandparents Jacob Ruben Allred and Nancy L. Cox Allred. Maternal Grandparents Judson Bruce Bowen and Sophronia Ann Herrin Bowen.
