Walter Bazarsky Obituary

Walter Bazarsky
08/23/1941 - 04/11/2023
Walter Stephen Bazarsky, age 81, loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away with family by his side in Houston, TX on Tuesday, April 11, 2023.

Walter was born on August 23, 1941, in Providence, Rhode Island to Rae and Max Bazarsky. Walter moved from Rhode Island to Houston at the age of 8, then graduated from Bellaire High School in 1959 and went on to the University of Texas. Both loves of Walter's life entered his story in July 1963. Walter met his future wife, Pam Levine, the same week he started his business, B&B Iron and Metal Company. Other than his family, B&B was the next most important part of his life.

Walter loved collecting baseball cards, stamps, coins, and other sports memorabilia. He was an amateur radio operator, W5KFL, starting at the age of 13, where he communicated in Morse code with thousands of people all over the world. He loved spending time at his farm in Moulton, TX, traveling around the world, going to baseball games, diligently following the stock market, and had a big heart for all animals. Though Walter had many hobbies, his primary source of joy in life was spending time with and providing for his family. Many of his happiest hours were spent taking his family out to nice dinners.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Rae and Max Bazarsky, sisters-in-laws, Sara Levine and Sandra Segal, and daughter-in-law Katherine G. Bazarsky. Walter is survived by his wife of 58 years, Pam Bazarsky, his daughter Arlene Hecht and husband, Jerry, her son Bobby Bazarsky and wife Heidi, and his grandchildren, Ryan, Jordan, and Collin Hecht, and Reagan, Will, Brett, and Taylor Bazarsky. Walter is also survived by his siblings, Howard Bazarsky, Richard Bazarsky, and Susan Larsen, and their spouses.

Special thanks to Walter's wonderful caretakers Elena Duran, Letreece Jackson, Lavada Givens, Kim Booker, and Debbie Hunter.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Beth Yeshuran Post Oak Cemetery, 7445 Awty School Ln. Houston, TX 77055.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association or to the K-9 Angels Rescue.
