Wash has been and will remain a legend to all examiners at the Texas State Board of Insurance (now Texas Department of Insurance). And I'm proud to say that I knew him.

I extend condolences on the occasion of your loss. We are not acquainted, but it seems likely that we are related. If, indeed, Bessie May was the daughter of William Mingus and Julia Frances Spillman Mingus, of Bosque County, then she was also the sister of my grandfather, William Coke Mingus, deceased. I have studied the photograph, searching for resemblances I cannot recall. In any case, I extend sympathy in your loss of an obviously fine man.

With regards,

Julia Mingus Lundgren (Mrs. H. L.)
