William Keim Obituary

William Keim
09/16/1946 - 04/03/2024
William O. "Bill" Keim Jr., aged 77, passed away peacefully in his home on April 3, 2024, after bravely facing Corticobasal Syndrome. Born on September 16, 1946, to William and Nancy Keim, Bill grew up in Syosset, NY, and later raised his family in Tolland, CT, resided in Hilton Head Island for a decade, most recently he resided in Missouri City, Texas.
Bill graduated from Lehigh University and dedicated his entire career to Arthur Andersen, where he rose to the position of Partner. Affectionately known as "Pa," Bill was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
His passion for storytelling was unparalleled and imparted wisdom through his gentle guidance. An enthusiastic traveler, Bill delighted in sharing his adventures with loved ones. His generosity knew no bounds, as he generously donated his time and resources to family, friends and various charities. In retirement, Bill shared his knowledge as an S.A.T. tutor, helping numerous students of Ridge Point High School achieve their college enrollment goals.
Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sheila G. Keim, and his son Jonathan. He is survived by his loving daughter, Kristin McHugh (Bob) of Missouri City, Texas, and his son Jeffrey Keim of Newburyport, MA. He was a proud grandfather to four grandchildren: Elyssa, Emily, Trevor, and Addison, and sibling to Peter Keim.
A Celebration of Bill's Life will be held on Hilton Head Island, SC. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Bill's legacy of love, laughter, and compassion will continue to thrive in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Wow, just stumbled upon this online. I grew up w/Bill as Syosset baby-boomers, SHS, class of 64. Nothing about later praise here surprises me ... it's just the way he always was, and was raised by Nan and Bill Sr.

We were just thinking about Bill recently and wondering how he was doing. We were so saddened to hear of his passing. We are comforted by the fact that Bill is no longer suffering. Our son, Jack, who is a senior at Texas A&M was fortunate to be one of Bill's SAT tutor students. What an experience that proved to be for us and we really bonded with Bill especially with it being during the early COVID years. By the time it was time for my daughter to get tutored, Bill sadly informed us of his diagnosis and that he will no longer be tutoring which we know he loved. We stayed in touch with Bill over the years. He even discovered that he likes lemon cookies which he did not know before my daughter baked them for him. We will miss our friendship with Bill. May he rest in place.

I too had the honor to call Bill, my partner at Andersen. He was unquestionably sharp, talented and a consummate professional. He clearly had the best interests of his clients in mind, both the business and the individuals leading the business. Never one to agitate for personal gain but rather to be supportive of the team. A partner most definitely held in high esteem. Rest in peace, my friend.

I 've known Bill since the day he joined Arthur Andersen & Co. in the Hartford office. We were friends and kept in touch with each other up to the time of his passing. I would call him every so often to talk about our families and friends. He was a wonderful husband, parent and friend. I admired him greatly and I will miss him.

Bill was a fantastic neighbor and friend and one of the nicest guys I've ever met. He always had a smile and would ask about the family or sports teams or whatever you were interested in. We bonded over our love of golden retrievers and Rob and I always enjoyed our dinners out with him. He will be greatly missed.

I had the pleasure of working with Bill for over 20 years at Arthur Andersen. Bill and I teamed up on the banking industry, he on the audit side and I on the tax side. Times were turbulent in the late 80s for CT banks but Bill always thought straight and talked straight! He was a man of great personal conviction and was very thorough and thoughtful. His clients loved him!
My condolences to the family.

Pa was the most loving and kind grandfather. He has been my lifelong role model and biggest inspiration. I will forever cherish our hour long phone calls about accounting, bike rides along the beach, pool days, and countless card games. I am forever grateful to have the best Pa in the entire world.
