Dear Sally, Marianne and I offer you our deepest condolences. Bill was one of the first to give me advice, support and friendship when I came to Houston. He was a generous, loving person who was a wonderful friend to the University of St. Thomas for many years. May the good Lord watch over him and his family.

Bill and I shared many experiences in Washington, D.C. during the 70's when I was Washington Rep for Exxon. In my view, Bill was the most effective spokesman for the energy industry during that period. He was feisty, knowledgeable, and respected by members of Congress on both sides of the aisle. It was indeed a pleasure to work with Bill over the years.
He was truly a unique individual who committed himself to whatever projects he supported, and many have benefitted from his work and involvement with so many organizations over the years.
He will truly be missed.
