Anton (Tony) Kotyza

Kewaunee - Anton (Tony) Kotyza. Age 92 , formerly of Kewaunee died on June 22, 2021 at Northland Lodge Assisted Living of Two Rivers. He was born in Kewaunee on July 20, 1928 to the late Anton & Anna (Reichel) Kotyza.

Tony graduated from Kewaunee High School in 1947. He then attended the University of Wisconsin. He married the love of his life, Donna Jirtle on April 15, 1950. He served in the U. S. Army in the Korean War from 1952 to 1954. Tony received his Bachelors & Masters Degree from U. W. Stout in Graphic Arts, and taught graphic arts at Two Rivers Washington High School where he retired in 1988.

Tony was a naturalist, enjoying the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping and bird watching. He was a member of the Wisconsin Education Association, a former member of the Kewaunee Hunting and Fishing Club, and was a certified Master Gardener. He enjoyed his Honor Flight to Washington D. C. with the Korean War Veterans.

Survivors include his wife, Donna of seventy-one years; one daughter and son-in-law: Terri and Warren Belonger, Two Rivers; one daughter-in-law Jackie Kotyza, Sheboygan; six grandchildren: Chris (Brittany) Schultz, Bryn (Marty) Scheuer, Dayna (Jordan) Nienow, Carlie (Rory) Witthuhn, Emily (fiancee, Silvio Gomez) Kotyza, Holly (Dave) VanAkkeren; eight great grandchildren: Taylor, Eli, Jameson, Antonio, Ishiah, Maria, Lachlan, Evie, one sister-in-law, Julia Kotyza, Kewaunee and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son: Lee Kotyza; His parents: Anton and Anna Kotyza; One brother Joseph Kotyza and two sisters: Millie (Larry) Verdegan and Rose Schaller; his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Lee and Myrtle Jirtle; brother-in-law: Don (Jane) Jirtle.

Friends may call after 10:30 AM on Thursday July 8th at Buchanan Funeral Home Kewaunee. The service will be held at 11:30 AM with military honors to follow at River View Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Kewaunee Hunting and Fishing Club.
