Dorothy Konkle Obituary
Dorothy was born on November 30, 1929, in New Holstein, daughter of the late Andrew and Christina (Riedel) Piefer. She attended schools in Manitowoc and graduated with the class of 1947 from Lincoln High School. On October 9, 1948, Dorothy married Raymond J. Konkle at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on February 25, 2000. She was employed for many years at Imperial Eastman. Dorothy was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, YMCA, Red Hat Club, Manitowoc Senior Center, and the Manitowoc Yacht Club Auxiliary.
Survivors include by three children: Suzanne M. (Kim) Kuran, Pound; Mark L. (Mary) Konkle, Appleton; Cynthia L. Wiehr, Germantown; seven grandchildren: Nicholas (Autumn) Konkle; Craig Konkle; Jamie (Kelly) Konkle; Andy (Dana) Konkle; Brian Wiehr; Melissa Wiehr; Becky Chasensky; seven great grandchildren: David Lueskow; Kimberly Bayer; Olivia Konkle; Will Konkle; Gwen Konkle; Naomi Konkle; and Vance Konkle; three sisters-in-law: Laura Piefer, Hartford; Floraine Piefer, Texas; Grace Gregorius, Green bay; four brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law: David Kaminski, Manitowoc; Robert (Sally) Konkle, Wisconsin Rapids; Gerald Konkle, Althestine; Bernice (Dave) Fetterolf, PA; Eileen Tauschek, Racine; special friend Kenneth Bushman, Manitowoc. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband: Raymond J. Konkle; one son: Daniel R. Konkle; one grandson: Joseph R. Chasensky; six sisters; six brothers; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
A memorial Mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2012, at St. Francis of Assisi-Waldo, North 14th and Waldo Boulevard, Manitowoc. Rev. Daniel Viertel will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment of her cremated remains took place at Calvary Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 12:00 p.m. The Jens Family Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the Konkle family.
