Kael Klassen Obituary
Kael R. Klassen, age 29, a resident of Sheboygan, entered eternal life on Friday, April 18, 2014 at his residence.
Kael was born February 13, 1985 in Hillsboro, Kansas. He was the son of Dr. Darla Reimer and Dr. Richard Klassen. Kael attended Lincoln High School and graduated with the class of 2003. He continued his education at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. After college Kael moved to Charleston, South Carolina where he was employed at the Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Golf Resort. He then went on to employment at the Peninsula Grill in Charleston which was known for its 10 pound coconut cakes which were sent worldwide. Kael also worked at Kauai Island in Hawaii at Peter Merriman's Sea Food Restaurant, Francesca's Restaurant in Chicago and then at the Kohler Company at Riversbend and currently with the banquet and catering division of the Kohler Company.
Kael is survived by his parents: Darla and Richard, Tucson, AZ; two brothers and one sister-in-law: Tyler and Ashley Klassen and their son Benjamin, Indianapolis, IN; Ethan Klassen, Tucson, AZ; along with other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2014 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rex D. Perry and David Naidl. Cremation will take place later at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of services at 7:00 p.m.

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair Streets, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

Kael was one of the best chefs Ive ever known. I learned so much from him about food but also how to laugh. Some time has passed but there isnt a day that I dont think of him. His food always was love.. to his family and friends your in my thoughts and prayers! He touched so many peoples hearts.

I am so sorry for your loss, I was stunned to see this. I remember Kael he was friends with my son Jonathan Maertz and between him and Ethan he used to comment over to our place to visit.

Rich and Darla, I can't begin to understand the pain you are suffering. My brain won't let me go there. I have been told, and have read that cards and condolences do help, and it is only in that regard I am writing; to somehow, uncomprehendingly to me, ease the pain a small amount. My daughter dated Kael briefly a number of years ago. I remember what a polite, mature young man he was. My deepest sympathies for his family and friends.

Phil and I are so sorry to read of Kael's death. Ryan and Kelly were served dinner by Kael for a prom, if I remember correctly. He was too young. May your happy memories of Kael help to comfort you at this time.

My son T.J. was a friend of Kael's. I will always remember his quick wit and laugh. He was very special and my heart is saddened by his passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you, his family, and friends.

Kael hung around with my daughters. Always quick to laugh. I remember his face when he asked to have an old powder blue toilet I was throwing away. why I asked? For art he said. Take it I told him. Never got to see the art but the fact that he could find something beautiful in it says lot for his creativity and intelligence. Sorry to see another artist go away to young. I feel for the family. I know my daughters are grieving.

Terribly sad. He was going to come down just this past September to go to a concert with me and spend the night in our home. Over the years, Kael treated my wife and I to a customized dish when he was at that one place that used to be across from the Maritime Museum. I still to this day use a pencil holder he made as a gag for me in art class at Lincoln and so I think of him literally everyday. I haven't seen him much since graduation, but the moments counted. I will really miss him.

I am heartbroken. Remember him from my Sunday school class. He was such a joy. I am so very sorry for your loss. I remember him calling the fire dept reporting a fire and there was none, he was so little. Rest in peace Kael.

So sorry for your loss. I worked with Kael at the American Club. Even though our time working together was short, we had a good rapport, we shared a love of the same music.
