Ode Herzog Obituary
Aiken, SC - Mr. Ode Paul Herzog, 72, beloved husband of Suzanne "Sue" Herzog, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018.
Born in Manitowoc, WI, Ode was a son of the late Pauline Pierce and Henry Herzog. He was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and a veteran of the US Army. He went on to work for Bechtel Corporation for 35 years, eventually being transferred to the Savannah River Site. Ode was a member of Houndslake Country Club and took up the game of golf in his retirement years.
In addition to his wife Sue, Ode is survived by his son, Christopher A. (Melissa) Herzog, Manitowoc, WI; stepson, Jeffrey R. (Kathryn) Porter, Mount Pleasant, SC and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Herzog.
The family would like to thank Shella Hart for her care and compassion and Ode's best friend Dennis Scherer for his loving support.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Shellhouse Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. John Stapleton officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the US Army. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to (Friends of the Animal Shelter) FOTAS, PO Box 2207, Aiken, SC 29802.
