Dear Riesterer Family,
My deepest sympathies to all. I was a friend of Randy's in high school. Also class of 1980. I had moved out of state, so didn't see him much through the years; however, I did see him at my cousin's birthday party a few years back. I'm so glad to have been able to visit and laugh with him again. I have many fond memories of Randy. Every time I saw him he had a smile on his face. He was such a kind man. Heaven is fortunate! My prayers are with all of you.

How sad we were to hear of Randy's passing, what a fighter he was. Find comfort in knowing that he is with the Lord and is suffering no more. We recall the first time we ever met him. We were young new home owners back in 1993 driving an old John Deehr lawn tractor and some guy stopped Tony while he was cutting and had the nerve to tell us that our blade was most likely on unside down and that is why we were getting strips in our lawn. Sure enough it was on wrong, guess he did know a little more about John Deehr's than we did!! We joked about that during the years as we got to know Randy better. Rest in Peace Randy. Our love and prayers to you Faye and family.

Randy was the finest trombone player that I had the privilege to teach. I will always remember his positive outlook on things. I remember one year when he was in high school I put him in a very difficult situation. As I was filling out the music festival entry cards I suddenly realized that the solo that he hard worked on so long and hard was not on the contest list. I grabbed him as he went by the band room on the way to the bus on Friday and told him. He never batted an eye. He came in on Monday, picked out another solo, played it in the music festival 2 weeks later, ended up taking it to the stae contest and getting a I rating on it there. I breathed a very big sigh of relieve on that day. I remember being in the Kiel Municipal Band with Randy, and the fun we used to have there. I will never forget him. Diane and my sympathies are will you all. God be with you.
