Krofta, Rose M.

Rose M. Krofta, age 91 of N190 Hwy. 42, Kewaunee, WI, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at the Holy Family Memorial Medical Center in Manitowoc. She was born January 13, 1923, in the town of Two Creeks, daughter of the late Anton and Anna Kaiser Wojta. She married Kenneth Krofta on September 10, 1946, at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Tisch Mills. She was a homemaker for many years. Rose enjoyed gardening, especially taking care of flowers, and also enjoyed baking and crocheting. Rose loved all the things of nature, feeding the birds and all the animals that came by. Rose and her husband owned and operated the Krofta Fur Farm for 20 years. She was a lifetime member of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish. Rose enjoyed her work in the CCD Program for 15 years at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish. She was also the Sacristine in the parish for 25 years. Rose was a member of the Ladies Rosary Society of the church, and a former member of the Queen of Peace Circle #864, and the Daughters of Isabella- Kewaunee, and a member of the Council of Catholic Women.

She is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth; one brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Geraldine Wojta, of Two Rivers; one brother-in-law, Donald Shebesta, of Mishicot; and by many wonderful nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Jerome Wojta; her husband's parents, Joe and Anna Krofta; two brothers-in-law, Joe Krofta Jr. and Emanuel Mueller; and by three sisters-in-law, Eleanor Mueller, Kathryn Shebesta, and Phyllis Wojta.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at St. Isidore the Farmer Catholic Church, in Tisch Mills, with the Reverend Dennis Drury officiating, assisted by Deacon Robert Wavrunek, with burial to follow in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends may call after 9 a.m. on Tuesday at the church, until the time of service at 11 a.m. There will be no Monday evening visitation. The Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home of Mishicot, is assisting the Krofta family with funeral arrangements.
