Glenn Bouknight Obituary

Jan 6, 1942 - July 20, 2016 Mr. Glenn Bouknight, 74, of Madison, Alabama died Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Brookshire Healthcare Center in Huntsville, Alabama. Mr. Bouknight was born on January 6, 1942 in Columbia, SC to the late Carl Edward Bouknight and Hattie Elizabeth Monts. Glenn proudly served his country as an officer in the United States Army. He was the recipient of a Bronze Star, a Meritorious Service Medal (2d Oak Leaf Cluster) and a Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He received a Bachelor of Science from Clemson University where he received a football scholarship, a Master's degree from University of Southern California and an Accounting Certification from University of Alabama-Huntsville. He was a member of Beta Alpha Psi, a member of the ROTC and coached both the womens's and men's rifle teams at Murray State University. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Stephen Utley. Those he lovingly left behind include his wife, Shirley Bouknight; two sons, Michael Utley (Karol) of Murray and Gary Utley of Nashville, TN and one grandson, Hunter Utley of Murray. Funeral services are scheduled for 1 PM on Monday, July 25, 2016 at the Heritage Chapel of Imes Funeral Home, 1804 State Route 121 North, Murray. Burial will follow at Murray Memorial Gardens. John Dale will officiate. His family will receive visitors from 12-1 PM on Monday, July 25, 2016 at the funeral home. Online condolences available at www.imesfh.com

To the Bouknight Family: My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there's a hope for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.
