Alberto Castillo

Alberto Castillo, 61, of Nampa, died Thursday, January 31, 2008, at a Nampa hospital of natural causes. Rosary devotions will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 4, 2008, at Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 5th, at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Caldwell. Inurnment will be at a later date at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Nampa.
Alberto was born January 13, 1947, at Monterey, Mexico to Fidel and Adela Villarreal Castillo. He was raised in Chicago, Illinois. In the 1960's he made his home in Texas and then later in Idaho in the late 60's, 70's and 80's. He later lived in California and then returned to Idaho in the late 1990's. He was employed for 18 years by Jiffy Lube and also had owned his own auto lube business for several years. He had also worked for Crookham Seed Co., J.R. Simplot Co., and Karcher Mall as a security guard before retiring from Nestle's in Nampa in 2001.
Alberto married the love of his life, Guadalupe LaMantia, on January 27, 2007.
Alberto was always cheerful. He saw life as an adventure to be relished to the fullest. His great sense of humor made our lives rich with laughter. He was a special uncle to all the kids. He loved animals and fishing and camping.
Alberto was a fighter and no matter how bad his health became he still fought back. He loved life.
Alberto is survived by his wife, Guadalupe Castillo; his children, David, Christina, Christopher, Albert, Sandra (Luis) and Eddy; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Martha and Luis Bravo, Rosie and Juan Toledo and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fidel and Adela and a son, Fidel Alberto, III.
