Anna Rowell Obituary

Caldwell - The spicy, feisty "Lucky Lady" Anna Pearl Rowell left her family & friends to fight their own fights on December 30, 2025. She passed peacefully in the comfort of her home, surrounded by family. She may have been short in stature, but her get-up-and-go personality was larger than life.

Anna Pearl (named after her two grandmothers) was born to Avis L. (Carney) and John H. Poppe Sr. on October 26, 1942, in Bend, OR. She grew up on a farm near Terrebonne, OR, and graduated from Crook County High School in 1960. She attended Multnomah Business College, and later completed commercial and real estate law courses at Central Oregon Community College.

She married Bud Jones in 1967, at Powell Butte, OR, and raised her children Todd and Tanya on a ranch near Notus, ID. After her divorce from Bud, she married the love of her life, Danny J. Rowell, in 1991.

In addition to working on the ranch and raising her kids, Anna Pearl also worked almost continuously from 1960-2007 at various jobs including banks in Redmond, OR, and Caldwell, ID; Blacker's Furniture in Caldwell, ID; and for 33 years as Office Manager for the Canyon County Assessor where she retired in 2007.

Anna Pearl was involved with many groups including 4-H as a member and leader; Hermosa Chapter 32 Order of Eastern Star; Guardian Secretary to Job's Daughters; Women's Bowling Association USBC since 1968; Idaho Gutter Gussie Club since 1972; and United Methodist Church of Caldwell. And she was a diehard fan of the Seattle Seahawks, Seattle Mariners, and her local team, the College of Idaho. Go Yotes!

In addition to winning lotteries, "Lucky Lady" (nicknamed by local Channel 7 in 2007) Anna Pearl enjoyed bowling, gardening, flowers, traveling (almost all 50 states plus some Canadian provinces), visiting family and friends, and playing (and winning) slot machines. She took great care of her 17 rose bushes, flowers, and garden right up until November before she passed. She even helped her neighbors with their flowers and yard, whether they wanted it or not.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Danny, her parents, sister Darlene Bozarth, brother John Jr. (Butch), and great-grandson Kooper. She is survived by her children Todd (Corine) Jones, and Tanya (Steve) Rude, and bonus daughters Cynthia (Galen) Weeks, and Abigail (Doug) Countryman; 9 grandkids; 9 great-grandkids; 3 nieces and 1 nephew, numerous cousins, family in-laws, and many close friends and neighbors.

Anna Pearl hired me way back in the 90's for the Assessor' office because she loved my handwriting. She joked about that. She was a wonderful boss and she will be truly missed.

I knew Anna Pearl because I used to be married to her husband's nephew. Anna Pearl really was a lucky lady. I was with her one year when she won a new truck from the lottery . Rest well Anna Pearl
