Beverly Traylor Obituary

Boise - On November 14th the world became less colorful with the death of our mom, Beverly Traylor. Mom was born on November 19th, 1927 to her parents Lillian and Frank Steinheiser. After graduation from Mead H.S. she attended WSU where she met her forever love Merlin Traylor. They married in 1950 and were together until Dad's death in 2014.

After Dad's time in the Air Force they moved to Odessa, Washington for his job at the Memorial Hospital. Mom was a natural for small town life. She developed many lifetime friendships while playing bridge, selling Avon, and cultivating a love of gardening.

Mom and Dad relocated several times due to his career. They finally landed just outside of Goldendale, Washington. As with every other place she lived, everyone knew her due to her fun and outgoing personality. In addition to creating beautiful garden spaces on their property, she adopted any stray animals who happened to wander onto their property.

In 2012, Mom and Dad moved to Boise to be closer to family. If she wasn't working out in her yard, Mom was making friends with anyone who was fortunate enough to cross her path.

Mom was a fighter, beating cancer twice and continuing to enjoy life in spite of health challenges. She left this world on her own terms: in her home, pain-free, and in peace.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Robert Steinheiser, and her beloved husband, Merlin. She is survived by her daughters, Janet Satterwhite (Larry), LeAnn Traylor, and Mollie Traylor. She had five grandchildren, Rachel (Cody), Brianda (Robert), Benjamin, Kobi, and Meica.

We would like to thank her caregivers and her wonderful neighbors who kept an eye out for her. A special thank you to Alona, who cared for her as if Mom was her own grandmother. There will be no service. The family will be scattering her ashes in the spring. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to any animal welfare organization.
