Darlene was an accomplished violinist and tap dancer in her youth. Darlene was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved to serve in her callings in the Relief Society. In her last three wards she was responsible for printing monthly newsletters that everyone enjoyed receiving.
Darlene was a loving wife, mother and friend. She loved children, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her husband Glenn Monroe Gaerte preceded Darlene in death on Sept. 20, 1999.
She is survived by her brother David King (Margaret) Mulliner of San Diego, Calif., daughter, Kay Anna Gaerte of Springfield, Ill., twin sons Duane Monroe Gaerte of Nampa and Dennis Eugene (Bonnie) Gaerte of Woods Cross, Utah. Kay, Dennis and Duane,
Beloved cousins, we will truly miss your dear mother and our most favored aunt! It won't be the same going to visit in Nampa and her not being there. She was always such a joy for us to visit. We will never forget her loving kindnesses and concern for our family too. She was always so happy to share about her children and grandchildren and all their accomplishments, etc. On David's last visit, they shared their love of family, and for GOD and David expressed to her how she always exhibited the spirit of Christ in all we knew of her.
