Darlene Frances Shaw

Nampa - Darlene Tela Shaw, age 86, of Nampa, Idaho (formerly of Elko, NV), passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026, surrounded by her husband, sister, children, and grandchildren.

Born on February 15, 1940, in Fresno, California, she was the daughter of Violet and Apolonio Tela. Darlene was known for her kind heart, her grit and sharp wit, selfless generosity, and her wealth of knowledge. Her passion for gardening and her love for fruit trees and flowers, which she tended with such care and compassion, and a will to bring any wilted flower back to health. She is known for her love for cooking and sharing food, and time in the kitchen with the ones she loved.

Darlene was a lover of life, experiencing the good and making the most of each moment - from luaus in Hawaii, to hunting and fishing trips with her family and friends, to her dogs, her garden, and finding a killer deal in the closeout section or yard sale. But her greatest joy in life was her family.

She is survived by her husband, Martyn Shaw; siblings Vincent Tela, Ilona Doyle, and Marcella Tela; and children Richard Embry, Marcy Embry, Wink Embry, Michelle (Todd) Embry, and Brian (Trista) Shaw, as well as her 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Sawyer, and her parents.
