David Esley Kushland

1940 - 2022

Homedale - Dave Kushlan passed away on September 2, 2022 at the age of 81, in his hometown of Homedale, Idaho. Dave passed quietly, surrounded by his family. Dave was born the oldest of five brothers to Lewis and Marge Kushlan and grew up on the family farm in Homedale where he mastered his future profession of farming.

Dave met the love of his life, Elsie, and they married on August 23, 1963. Together they had four boys, Eric, Gary, Brian, and Brad who they raised on the family farm southwest of Homedale. He also has 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Dave loved sports and coached his sons in football, basketball, and baseball. He never missed one of his kids or grandkids games and was an avid supporter of all Homedale High School sports. Dave had many friends in the community and could be found at coffee many mornings, playing in a regular poker game, and witching wells. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and playing games with the family. He spent many evenings around the table with his kids and grandkids playing cards, dice, or dominos. These games created great memories.

Dave was always there for his family, putting their needs before his own. He loved his family very much and cherished his time with them.

Dave was preceded in death by Brian (son), Lewis (father), Marge (mother), and Rick (brother).

A graveside service will be held at the Marsing-Homedale cemetery on Monday September 12th at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the charity of your choice. Condolences can be given at www.flahifffuneralchapel.com
