Frederick DeGeus Obituary

Frederick A. DeGeus, 53, of Wilder died Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at home with family and friends by his side. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, at the Mountain View Church of the Nazarene, Wilder. Inurnment will follow at the Wilder Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Homedale.
Fred was born Feb. 17, 1955, in Caldwell. He was the son of Charles F. and Krena Fowke DeGeus. He was raised in the Central Cove area and graduated from Homedale High School. He married Diana King and from this union they had two daughters. They later parted ways.
He worked for Campbell Tractor as a mechanic for over 15 years. He was a 20-year member of the Homedale Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the Owyhee County Rodeo Board, a County Fire Commissioner, and a past member of the Owyhee County Sheriff's Posse. He looked forward to yearly fishing and camping trips with family and longtime friends, Dan and Sherry Parrill. He enjoyed doing yard work, gardening, riding horses and helping friends brand cattle.
He is survived by two daughters, Melissa and Matt McBride and Lora and Matt Ingram, three grandsons, Matthew, Mikah and Wyatt, his mother Krena DeGeus, a sister Faith and Gary Olsen and nieces, a nephew, great nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father Charlie DeGeus and brother Clarence DeGeus.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be given to the Homedale Fire Department, PO Box 905, Homedale, ID 83628 or the Caldwell Cancer Center, 3123 Medical Drive, Caldwell, ID 83605.

We would like to wish the DeGues family happy thoughts of a very good man. He worked on our tractors and we knew they were fixed right. We enjoyed visiting with him about the Homedale community and his family. We are very sorry for your loss.
