Jim Hall Obituary

Jim R. Hall passed away July 24, at home with his family by his side. Jim was born in Caldwell, to John and Dolly (Goodson) Hall on Oct. 20, 1947. He graduated from Marsing High School in 1966. He graduated from the University of Idaho in 1971. He married Vickie James in 1971; they had two sons, Jason and Jamie. They were later divorced. Jim worked for various seed companies before starting his own business, J-V Seeds in 1986. In 1997 Jim married Jan Young and gained two daughters, Leslie and Stacey that he loved so much. He also became grandpa to Jan's six grandchildren, who adored him and the feeling was mutual.
In 1999 Jim and Jan took J-V Seeds in a different direction and started planting beautiful lawns throughout the valley. Jim loved what he did and met so many wonderful people.
Jim shot trap league for many years at Indian Valley and was an excellent shot. He was also an avid golfer and taught Jan to play, and for years they had so much fun golfing at different courses. They also took many fun trips to Jackpot.
He is survived by his wife, Jan, sons Jason (Diane) Hall of Watsonville, Calif., and Jamie of Nampa; daughters Leslie Carlson and Stacey (Mikey) Gates, both of Nampa. nine grandchildren, Jackie (Sloan) Schertell, Katie (Jason) Bradley, Maddie Scholz (fiancé Josh Cord), Maddie is currently serving our country overseas, Ashleigh and Braeden Lieberman, Levi Mefford, Izabel, Julia and Ava Hall; six great-grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Matthew, Killian, Shelby, Austin, Damien and Jayden; sister Annette (Larry) Carlson; brother Jeff (Debbie) Hall; nieces Lori (Tim) Manning (daughter Taylor) and Jennifer Hall; nephews Steve Carlson (son Tyler), and Bret (Jenny) Hall (daughter Claire); brothers-in-law, and their wives, Floyd and Carol Haines, Jack and MaryAnn Haines, Bernard and June Haines; dear friends Pat and Bill Albers and Winni and Ray Trapp, and also, many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and little brother Ronnie.
Our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Hodson, Pam, Holly, Penny, Jan, Lindsey, Jewel and Liz at St. Al's Cancer Center and Sue with Horizon Hospice.
At Jim's request there will be no service.
Cremation is under the direction of Bowman's Funeral Parlor. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Angels Anonymous.

We are sorry to hear of Jim's passing. We only knew him briefly when our son Daniel Burnham dated Jim's granddaughter Maddie. Jim was kind to Daniel and employed him for a summer. Jim and Jan welcomed us to their home for a family get together and it was clear how much he loved his children and grandchildren. Our sympathy goes out to Jan and the rest of the family.
