Juan Banda Sr.

1942 - 2024

Caldwell - It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Juan Banda Sr. of Caldwell, ID, who died at the age of 82 on August 24, 2024, after a short battle with cancer. He moved to the United States at a very early age and worked in the agriculture industry in many capacities his entire life. If you had the privilege of working with him, he is remembered for his second-to-none work ethic and forever friendly demeanor. If you are family, you knew how fiercely he loved you, especially his brothers and sisters and grandchildren. If you were near him, you understood he had a wonderful sense of humor while telling you one of the many amazing stories from his life. He was truly a kind hearted man, always willing to help his friends and family when they were down. He married his first wife, Elva Mendoza in 1960 and was married 40 years. Juan and Elva had three children, Carolina Banda, Irene Pedraza (m. Jesse), and Juan Banda Jr. He remarried Elva Rosales in 2004 and stayed married until his passing. In addition to his parents, Adolfo Banda Sr. and Celia De Los Reyes, he is survived by his wife and children, as well as his brothers and sisters: Maria "Lupita" Hernadez (m. Mario Guadalupe), Lidia Campos (m. Baldemar), Gabino Banda (m. Linda), Hortencia Garcia (m. Juan), Belia Zepeda (m.Juan Anontio "Tony"), Alicia Aguirre (m. Arnold), Maria Emma Banda, Gloria Jaramillo (m. Isabel), Adolfo Banda Jr. (m Ana), David Banda, Armando Banda; seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A service of remembrance will be held at 11:00am Friday August 30, 2024, at Valley Church, 2900 Life Way Caldwell, ID 83605. He will be laid to rest at the Lower Boise Cemetery at 12:30pm.
