Condolences for Lloyd Dan Rowell
It is with deep emotion that I pay tribute to Lloyd Dan Rowell, who passed into the eternal Orient on October 14, 2025, in Caldwell, Idaho.
A devoted officer in several Masonic denominations and fraternal organizations in Idaho, Boise, and Caldwell, Dan was an exemplary brother, whose commitment and integrity left a lasting impression on those who were fortunate enough to cross his path. His military career took him to France, to the Dordogne, to the NATO forward base in Saint Astier, not far from Périgueux, until June 1962. It was there that he met my wife's mother, with whom he formed a sincere and respectful friendship.
In May 1999, our paths crossed thanks to Maurice Lewton, a former member of the American Camp Chamiers in the Dordogne. Since then, our exchanges with Dan, by email and telephone, have forged a fraternal relationship, marked by humanity, kindness, and rare honesty. Dan was for Eve and me a guiding light, a faithful and luminous presence.
To his two daughters, his son, his grandchildren, and all their loved ones, I offer my most sincere condolences. May Dan be a source of comfort and pride for all of you. As I share with him, universal Masonic values.
Rest in peace, my dearest brother Dan. Your fraternity, your kindness, your commitment, and your love for others make the new star you have become shine brighter, and which has joined our celestial vault, to better enlighten us with your wisdom.
I extend to you, my dearest brother, my triple and warm fraternal embrace, as well as my unwavering affection.
Your brother, Christophe Gaillard

I was deeply saddened to learn of Dan's passing. He held a special place in my life.
Even though I didn't have the opportunity to share time with his family, he always considered me a daughter, and that affection will remain etched in my heart.
I offer you my sincere condolences and deepest sympathy during this difficult time.
