Marjorie Boone Obituary

Marceline, MO - Marjorie Irene Boone, known earlier in life as Marjorie McKinney and born Marjorie Ellis, passed away peacefully at her home in Marceline, Missouri, on November 17, 2025. Born April 8, 1932, in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Claude Valentine Ellis and Velma Irene Ellis, Marjorie was one of nine children.

With a generous and creative spirit, Marjorie was fueled by deep curiosity, always making, mending, and creating, while sustaining a lifelong passion for music, photography, woodworking, quilting, paper quilling, baking, and much more. She was a strong, independent, and capable woman. Her vast skill set included Barbie Doll Dressmaker for Sears Roebuck; Pilot Car Driver; Repo Agent; LPN at the Boise VA Hospital; Reserve Deputy Sheriff; Seamstress; Hobby Farmer; Porcelain Dollmaker; Hobby Clockmaker; Photographer; and Cake Maker. She purchased her first computer, a Commodore 64, within months of its release and quickly became the family IT Support Specialist. She also rode a motorcycle, drove muscle cars, and learned to fix nearly anything-from plumbing and electrical wiring to electronics and small appliances.

Marjorie was a fierce caregiver, a committed mother to her four children; a warm grandmother to her five grandchildren and numerous step-grandchildren; a loving sister; and a generous friend. She believed one of her callings was celebrating friends and family through handmade notecards and memorial bookmarks. She was often seen playing the flute, and occasionally the omnichord, at the Church of God (Seventh Day) in Idaho and Missouri, and volunteering at nearby retirement homes.

Marjorie is survived by her husband, Roger Boone; two children-Daniel Wade Henderson and Donna Irene Moore; six step-children; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons-Milton Keith Henderson and Stanley Ralph Henderson; three brothers and three sisters; and former husband Wilber (Willie) McKinney.

A memorial service with potluck to follow is scheduled for January 23, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Church of God (Seventh Day) in Meridian, Idaho located at 1808 W 3rd St, Meridian, ID Earlier services were held in Marceline, Missouri.

Her family bids her "bye for now."

Marge was a wonderful cousin and friend to me. She was always doing something to help others. She will be missed by many but never forgotten. May she rest in peace.
