Nampa - Marjorie Janet Garmendia passed away peacefully on August 20, 2024 with her family by her side.
She was born in Heppner, OR on April 7th, 1932, to Bernice and Harvey Bauman. As we, the family, said our "see ya laters", we reflected on her long full life of 92 years. One word that constantly popped up was LOVE. She was loved deeply by many. But it was what she taught us about love that meant the most. She taught us to love unconditionally. She taught us to love and enjoy life. She taught us to laugh and affectionately express and embrace humor with each other.
She had three beautiful sons she cherished deeply. Raising them to be intelligent, brilliant, strong, caring, compassionate, and most of all loving. Marge loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren so deeply and so lovingly. They will never forget her.
She started cutting hair at 10 years old, which she learned from her mother. She loved it and so truly loved her clientele. She became very close to so many and she never forgot about any of them. They were all cherished friends in her long life. She was always very meticulous about her hair and clothes and always looked like a Queen to us.
She loved to plant her sweet peas. She also loved geraniums and always loved to receive them for Mother's Day from all of us. We will forever miss her cooking our favorite Basque dish, Bacalou. Bacalou was a big deal to get ready. Lots to do to make it perfect, right down to soaking the cod for three days and buying the correct chilies for the perfect flavor.
That was like a big pot of gold cooking on the stove with the smell we will never forget.
She was proud to have not lost her mind or her teeth. Her favorite color was blue. She loved hamburgers and cheeseburgers with onions, and you could always count on her having a stash of chocolates somewhere. One of her most cherished activities was playing cards with her grandchildren. Our memories of our mom/grandma/grammie/great grandma will always be sweet and precious to us.
Graveside services for Marjorie, Marge, Mom, Grandma will be held at Mount Calvary Cemetery Nampa, Idaho, Thursday August 29, 2024, at 2pm. Luncheon with family and friends to follow. An online guest book and full obituary is available at
