Marjorie Lore Obituary
She was born in Shell Rock, Iowa, to Hugh and Etta May Miller. She had two sisters, Mildred Sherburne, Elsie Ressler, and one brother Everett Hugh Miller. Marjorie taught in several country schools in Iowa.
She married Floyd Reuben Lore of Clarksville, Iowa, on Nov. 3, 1950. Their strong work ethic was shown in their love of gardening, growing flowers and working on their home. They were strong supporters of their church. Marjorie devoted her life full time to raising five children and instilling spiritual values in them. Right up to the end, she wanted everyone to know that she saw Jesus and that He is real.
After Floyd's death in February of 1982, Marjorie moved to Canby, Ore., to be closer to her daughters who were all in Oregon at the time. She lived in her own apartment for several years, until she took a fall. She then moved to the Corvallis Manor Nursing Home in Oregon where her daughter Frances resided. In the fall of 2006, she moved to the Holly Nursing Home in Nampa to be close to her daughter Milly and family.
She enjoyed all her grandchildren: Dana (Duell) Hinders, Daniel Duell, Stephanie (Merick) Courtney, Shawna (Merick) King, Todd and Jeff Goode, Gerrick and Greg Lindberg, and twins Andrea and Angela Schilling. She was extra blessed with seven great-grandchildren: Todd's twins Emily and Ashley Goode, and Lilly; Jeff's two boys Levi and Jack; Stephanie's son David, and Dana's son Logan. She is survived by her children: Hugh (Deb) of Clarksville, IA, Ellen (Louis) Merick of North Pole, AK, Milly (Gary) Goode of Nampa, Frances (Michael) Ford of Corvallis, OR, and Marian (John) Schilling of Milwaukie, OR.
A memorial service will be held in Clarksville, Iowa at a later date this summer. Arrangements have been entrusted to Alsip & Persons Funeral Chapel, 404 10th Ave. S. Nampa, ID 83651, 466-3545.
