https://youtube.com/live/GprOpQgRyzMNoe lived his life with purpose and devotion to his faith and his family. He was a husband, a dad, a grandpa, a brother, a coach, a boss, a friend, and an inspiration to so many. Noe dedicated his life to helping those most in need through both public service and quiet, everyday acts of kindness.
Noe was born on February 2, 1950, in Newgulf, Texas, to Antonio Rodriguez and Santos Ortiz. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy for four years before beginning a long and successful career in retail and human resources. He spent 25 years at KG Men's Store, rising from sales associate to Regional Vice President overseeing stores across several states. He later served as head of Human Resources for Inteframe Components. Throughout his career, Noe earned tremendous respect and was admired for his leadership, compassion, and integrity.
On October 13, 1973, Noe married the love of his life, Janet (Harmon) Rodriguez. Together they shared 52 extraordinary years and raised two daughters, Jodie and Jaina, and welcomed their daughter-in-law, Erica Hill-Rodriguez. Noe was a devoted grandfather to McKinley (Engel) Vasquez and Gavin Engel, celebrating McKinley's marriage to Nathaniel Vasquez with pride and joy and looking forward with great excitement to Gavin's upcoming wedding to Leah Aivles.
Family was at the center of everything Noe did. He deeply cared for his siblings - Elizabeth Rodriguez, Alicia Morales, Yolanda (Jolly) Cedillo, Ida Reyna, Delia Trejo, Mary Sandoval, Ersilia DeLaPaz, Norma Michaelis, Luis Sandoval, and Herb (JR) Sandoval. He was also very connected to his extended family, including his mother- and father-in-law, Ernestine and Merle Harmon, and his brothers and sisters -in-law, Judy Stallcop, Ron Harmon, Dennis Harmon, Marilyn Olson, and Carolyn McGann. He was preceded in death by his parents, Santos and Antonio, his stepfather Heriberto Sandoval, his sister Norma, his sister Ida, and his in-laws Ernestine and Merle.
Noe never forgot those who helped guide him early in life, often sharing stories of coaches, teachers, and friends who made a lasting impact. He devoted himself to offering that same support to others. A passionate football fan, he cheered relentlessly for the Boise State Broncos and his Minnesota Vikings. His greatest passion, however, was using football to change lives. Noe coached and mentored youth for decades and ultimately served as Executive Director of the Optimist Club in Nampa, creating opportunities and support systems for young people who needed them most.
But what truly defined Noe were the countless acts of kindness that few ever knew about. He always seemed to hear when someone was struggling and would step in without hesitation- helping families find housing or food, delivering coats to children, and ensuring struggling families had Christmas gifts. His generosity was never for recognition; it was to give back to those in need in the way others had given to him.
Noe was a man of loyalty, principles, generosity, and a deep devotion to his family and friends. At the end of his life, Noe talked about wanting to write a book about his extraordinary life. But what Noe didn't realize is that the story of his life is already written - the pages are in the hearts and memories of all of us who had the privilege of knowing him. To honor Noe and help continue his work in helping those most in need, donations may be made in his name to Meals on Wheels through the Saint Alphonsus Foundation.
