Robert J. Thompson

1943 - 2025

Eagle - Robert J. Thompson, 81, of Eagle, Idaho, passed away at home on November 20, 2025, following a brief illness. A

devoted husband, father, and brother, his strong and unwavering love for his family will be remembered always.

Robert enjoyed a long and successful career in the grocery industry with Nally's Fine Foods and General Mills,

Inc. After 34 years with General Mills, he retired in 2003 as a Senior Business Leader. Robert took great pride in

his work and valued the relationships he built with colleagues and customers, forming many close and lasting

friendships along the way.

Robert enjoyed a lifelong passion for the game of golf. Self-taught, he began playing as a young man and

continued throughout his life, often competitively. A natural-born teacher, he generously shared his knowledge of

the game with many, introducing family and friends to golf and nurturing their own love for it. His enthusiasm and

quick wit will be sorely missed by all who had the joy of learning from him and playing by his side.

Robert is survived by his wife of 47 years, Colleen Thompson; and his children: Debbie Florence; Andria Jenne'

and her husband, Shane; and Robert W. Thompson and his wife, Kate. His grandchildren include Molly Knuth,

Kaitlyn Burgett, Kailea Burgett, Austin Williamson, Kody Hillner, Chea Jenne', Adam Jenne', Keegan Florence,

and Liam Thompson. He is also survived by his twin brother, William Thompson-Uberuaga, and his wife, Patricia,

and his sister, Debbie Harrington, and her husband, Andy.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Julie Hillner; his parents, William M. and Rose Uberuaga Thompson; and

his sister, Jan Dahlgren.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on December 5, 2025, at Sacred Heart Church, 811 S. Latah St.,

Boise, ID 83705.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Blood Cancer United or to a favorite charity.
