Ruth Weber Obituary

Ruth "Ruthie" A. Weber
February 1, 1936 - April 22, 2019
We are saying a sad good-bye to one of Nampa's institutions, Ruthie Weber, who died unexpectedly on April 22, 2019, at St Al's Medical Center in Nampa, Idaho.
Ruth Annette Croft was born on February 1, 1936 in Pasco, Washington, to the Reverend Charles and Hazel Croft. Ruthie graduated from Pasadena Nazarene College and in 1960 married the dashing Hal Weber. They settled in Palo Alto where they had three exceptional children, Lori, Sallie, and Thomas. Ruthie taught elementary school in Nampa and Kuna where she loved her students and they loved her. Music was in the forefront of her life. She played several instruments and accompanied the College Church Grace Notes Choir for 19 years. Ruthie made everyone she met feel like her best friend. She loved her God, her church, her family, her friends and total strangers. Her smile was contagious and defined her spirit. When Ruthie collapsed in her home on Friday, the world seemed to stop for her family and everyone who knew her. Ruthie Weber, you have left the world a better place.
Ruthie is survived by her husband, Hal Weber; her daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Kelly Bolen, Eagle, ID; her daughter, Sallie Weber, Salt Lake City, Utah; her son, Thomas Weber, Boise; her sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Dick Sohn, Holland, MI; her grand-daughter and husband, Alex and Michael Henricus, her grand-son Tony Bolen, her grand-nephew Michael Boyd and his wife Kristy, and his daughters and their children, Annabelle and Lily.
A Celebration of Life Service for Ruth will be held at College Church of the Nazarene, 504 E. Dewey Ave in Nampa at 3:00 PM on Saturday, April 27, 2019. There will be a time of visitation and a viewing at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel, 415 12th Ave. So. on Thursday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. An online guest book and the complete obituary are available at www.nampafuneralhome.com
The family suggest that memorial contributions be made to the Hazel Croft Memorial Scholarship Fund at Northwest Nazarene University, 623 So. University Blvd., Nampa, Idaho 83686.

In honor or Mrs. Weber

Mrs. Weber remains to this day one of my most beloved teachers. She had done an internship with my mother early in her teaching career and when she later moved out to Kuna, my mom requested that I, and then my brother, to be put in her class--so lucky for us! Her classroom was a community filled with tremendous love, kindness, and an all around happy place to be. She truly lived her religion and was such a positive example to a young Christian like myself. I don't think I ever remember her without that beaming smile on her face!
One of the greatest influences she had on me was the lasting love of music. To this day I still remember how Mrs. Weber would bring out her ukulele and sing some of the silliest songs with us! I fell in love with the idea of my teacher using music in such a joyful way to reach her students and through this lasting influence, I became an elementary school music teacher,(still out in Kuna)!
Earlier this year we received a small grant to purchase a set of 19 ukuleles that I have been teaching my own 4th and 5th grade students to play. They are now in love with the ukulele as much as I! Each and every time I pull them out, I can't help but think about Ruthie and it brings a smile to my face. I hope to be but half of the educator she was!
Although I will miss running into Mrs. Weber in downtown Nampa, getting flashed that wonderful smile plus the great big hug that would temporarily turn you back into that little 5th grader to leave you floating on air for hours afterwards, I am so thankful for the amazing legacy she was able to leave on the hearts of so many of us!

Mrs Weber reaches many lives! She was one of the many educators that had a lasting impact on my life and career choice as an educator. She was my 4th grade teacher at Ross Elementary in Kuna. A few years later she taught my wife in 5th grade. My wife also became an educator. Her legacy will continue to reach many generations to come!

Mrs. Weber was my 5th grade teacher in Kuna. Every student in her class was special to her and we could feel that we were loved and wanted in her classroom. She made learning fun! I remember her playing the piano for us on Friday afternoons and the ukulele in the mornings. She was kind and cheerful and she made a lasting impact on me. My condolences to her family and friends.

Ruthie was a special friend beginning in 1957 at Pasadena College (now Point Loma Nazarene University). Our paths crossed many times - the last time being a luncheon at NNU three weeks ago. Ruthie personified the best in the true spirit of her Christian faith. Our condolences to Hal and the family.

Ruthie was my son's 4th grade teacher at Roosevelt Elementary. She was the perfect teacher; kind, fair with high expectations for her students. That smile is unforgettable! The last time I saw Ruthie was at my mother-in-law's funeral. She looked the same as she did when having my son in 4th grade 25 years earlier...same smile. Ruthie did leave her corner of the world a better place!

We first remember Ruthie as our Sunday school teacher when we were newlyweds and attending the College Church Young Marrieds' class. She had love for each of us, and it was a big class. Later, we enjoyed her great old-fashioned piano accompaniment when a Grace Notes song required it. Her kindness and smile made a difference in so many ways. We were not ready to say goodbye to her, but are confident she is in heaven with Jesus, and we would never keep her from that!

Mrs Weber was my 5th grade teacher. She was my absolute favorite teacher. I will always have fond memories of her playing the ukulele. She cared for her students individually. She truly exemplified Christlike love. She will be missed dearly.

Mrs. Weber was my 5th grade teacher, and was one of my all time favorite teachers. She was so sweet and caring. We also went to the same church and every time I would see her she would great me with her beautiful smile. You will be greatly missed. But I am sure you are singing in heaven. With much love,

Our sincere condolences to the family. May God comfort you as only HE can. We attended Pasadena Nazarene College with Ruthie back in '54-'55. We both remember her well....that big smile of hers, her friendliness, her musical talent, her love for the Lord. We are so saddened to hear of her passing but rejoice in the knowledge that we will spend eternity together...what a day of rejoicing that will be!
God bless,
