Steven George Daylong

1961 - 2021

Covington, WA - Steven George Daylong (Steve), 59, of Covington, Washington passed away on September 14, 2021.

Steve was born November 19, 1961, at Selfridge Air Force Base in Mount Clemens, Michigan. Steve grew up the oldest of five kids, with three brothers, Jeff, Eric (Rick), and Todd, and a little sister, Brandi. Steve attended Caldwell Senior High School, graduating in May of 1980.

Steve attended college at the University of Idaho, Boise State University, and Puget Sound Christian College where he received his undergraduate degree. He later received a Master in Divinity from Emanuel School of Religion in Johnson City, Tennessee.

Steve married Carla Sattler in 1986 in Caldwell, Idaho. On May 25,1995 in Long Beach, California, they welcomed their son Dayne - their greatest pride and joy. Steve and Carla later divorced in 2000.

Steve was ordained as a minister at Caldwell First Christian Church in Caldwell, Idaho July 9, 1989, and was a Commissioned Lieutenant Chaplain in the Navy Reserves from May 6, 1992, until May 30, 2000.

Steve met Camille Ouellette in February 2018, they were married in Maui, Hawaii, on July 23, 2019.

Steve is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Peggy and Riley Daylong, and George Grinstine; his maternal grandparents, Laila and Wiljo Hill; and his father, George Gale Daylong. He is survived by his mother, Sharon Daylong; son, Dayne Daylong; wife, Camille Daylong; brothers, Jeff (Stephanie) Daylong, Eric (Kelly) Daylong, Todd (Shelli) Daylong; sister, Brandi (Chris) Mayes, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A private inurnment with military honors will be held at the Idaho Veteran's Cemetery in Boise, Idaho. A memorial and celebration of life will be held in Caldwell, Idaho. Both dates are yet to be determined. A full obituary can be found at http://www.edline-yahn.com/obituary/Steven-Daylong
