Terry Kiser Obituary

Terry A. Kiser
1953 - 2017
Terry Allen Kiser, 63, of Nampa. He was born Nov 11, 1953 in Fontana, California to Darlene and Kenneth Leroy Kiser. He lived in Pasadena, Calif. with his 2 Sisters and Brother. They stayed in Southern California but moved to Glendora when his parents divorced. His mother married Manuel J. Perry who owned a large nursery in Glendora, Ca. He was later joined by 4 more brothers. Manuel was given the job landscaping Mt. Home Air Force Base and later arrived home in CA to pack up his family and move to Idaho. They ended up as farmers and ranchers on 1,000 acres in Middleton, Idaho.
Terry enjoyed Idaho and loved hunting and working with his hands. He attended Middleton High School and graduated in 1973 then joined the Navy during the Vietnam War. He was stationed in, United States Naval construction battalions, (Seabees), on Diego Garcia Island in the Indian Ocean working on the construction of the communications station and an airfield. He later returned to Port Hueneme, CA. where he was stationed before returning home in 1975. Terry was very proud of his military service and being a part of the Seabees his whole life. After returning to Middleton, Terry got a job at The City of Nampa. He also joined the Navy Reserves and worked as a reservist for the Canyon County Sheriff's Office. He later met Pamela Dean and her young daughter, Melissa and married her. They lived in Nampa and soon Brad Allen was born completing their family. Terry later worked at Asgrow Seed in Nampa as a crew leader for many years. He was divorced after the children were grown and later met Carrie Galbraith and they were married in 1997. They were divorced in 2015. Terry worked for the Nampa School District for 8 years in their Landscaping division. He was a hard worker and moved up in the division quickly. He was diagnosed with lung cancer and had to leave his job in 2016.
Terry loved his Family and his Country very much. He also loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing and loved being a cowboy. He always wore jeans and a cowboy hat, rode horses, and could swing a mean lasso. Terry also had a wonderful singing voice and you could find him karaoke singing all over town to his favorite oldies and country songs. Terry was always there whenever you needed him and could fix anything. He was such a talented, kind and giving man always with a smile and tip of his hat. His many friends and big extended family will miss their handsome cowboy!
He is survived by his two children: Melissa & (Brian) Umbaugh and Brad Kiser and 7 grandchildren, his Mother, Darlene Kerr, Sister, Suzanne Kiser (Henry) Williamson, Brother, Kenneth (Lauretta) Kiser, Brothers: Joseph Perry, Michael (Sandra) Perry, Mark Perry, Matthew (Christy) Perry and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Father, Kenneth Leroy Kiser, Step-Father, Manuel J. Perry, Grandson, Takoda Kiser, Sister and brother-in-law Gail Kiser Roberson and Jimmie Roberson.

You were a wonderful man, you were always the father I wished of having. I feel so blessed to have met you and been a part of your life. You changed my mom and helped her become better. I will always remember the day you took me for a ride in the convertable listening to "courtesy of the red white and blue by tobey keith "at 6 months pregnant.
