Dear Janet, I am so sorry for the lost of your dear Husband. I have always loved the Blad family and thought you were a very good addition to their family. I just want you to know your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Please give your in-laws a hug from me as well.

Dear Blad Family, our son Karl Louder was a companion to Elder Blad in Houston. It was clear from his letters home that he loved his companion who was playful but hard working and generous. I'm sure these are traits he learned from his father. We were saddened to hear of the passing of Elder Blad's father but are grateful he was able to be home with the family at this time. May the Lord bless you and comfort you at this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Blad Family this day. I have thought about you-all many times today. I wish I could have been there for the funeral in person, but I was definitely with you in thought and spirit. I know this is a very difficult time, but you are a strong family and will be triumphant together.

Although I do not know your family, I felt a sense of dejavou as I read this obituary. I felt the need to give my condolences. My Father also died at age 48 of a disease. One sister was on a mission and two of us were in college. He had also been in Scouting and sports. My prayers go out to you at this very difficult time and for the future. May the Lord bless you always.

This is hard to see. Alan was a very good man and there is a hole left in many lives with his passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. May you receive the peace through the comforter who the Father will send in His name. I knew Alan as a man of faith that this life is just a step in an eternal plan.

Janet, it was really hard on Tuesday night when it was the final tuesday that i knew for sure he wouldnt be coming back. It was kinda quiet, talked about last the time we all hung out on the court before the diagnosis. How many times we didnt ever have to set up the net cause he was always there, quiet, never complaining about the slow peeple not helping.....unlike me.

We also talked about Tournaments we played together in the spring and summer over the years. He was so fun to be around, maybe we will have to go play by his grave on tuesdays instead of the church.
All the fun times over the last few months coming over and making him laugh or learn of his sports past, trophies, jokes, and DJing. I wish i got to know him more, he Is truely an awesome friend, father and most humble person I've ever met. Thank you for letting me hang with you and your family
