Very sorry to hear this. My Bishop when I moved on the Monte Vista hill 29 years ago.
2 years in I was laid off by Nalleys after a 23 career in the grocery business. Kim and I were devastated. Bishop Buck took us under his angel wings and helped us more than he even knew. As I started a new business and was trying to get it off of the ground Bishop Buck called me to be the elders quorum president. I told him I couldnt even lead myself right now. He told me he had prayed about it numerous times and my name kept coming to him. The call was not from him but from the lord. How do you say no to that? I reluctantly accepted and 2 months in My eyes were opened and I began to see how others were suffering with much greater problems than I had. I got off of the self pity wagon and lost myself in the service of the lord trying to help others. I grew to love and appreciate Bishop Buck more than anyone even him knows. I did tell him many times how much he meant to me. He was a valiant servant of God and lived very close to the lord. kims and my life were blessed beyond measure because of Bishop Buck. I will be forever greatful for him. He was a true quiet leader who never boasted of himself or wanted credit. He loved and served God until the end. Love him and will miss him.
