Harry Oxzburn Obituary

Harry Dean Ozburn
SODA SPRINGS - Harry Dean Ozburn, 78, of Soda Springs, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2009, at the Caribou Memorial Hospital.
He was born October 5, 1931, in Soda Springs, Idaho, to Aaron Leslie and Hazel Hawkes Ozburn. Harry was a lifelong resident of Soda Springs, where he graduated from Soda Springs High School. He attended the diesel mechanics program at Idaho State University and the Machinist Mate School in North Chicago.
He married Connie Lewis on December 27, 1950, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Connie passed away May 1, 2002.
Harry was a high priest in the Soda Springs LDS Fourth Ward. He was a farmer and served on the Soil Conservation Board for 30 years. He was also on the Caribou County Stabilization and Conservation Service Committee for many years and the County Extension Cereal Advisory Committee for several years. He was named the Idaho Conservationist Farmer of the Year by Gov. John Evans.
Harry served in the Navy and is a veteran of the Korean War.
Harry is survived by four sons and one daughter, Craig and Melodee Ozburn of Soda Springs, Idaho, Mark and Cindy Ozburn of Soda Springs, Idaho, Curtis and Donna Ozburn of Lava Hot Springs, Idaho, Dean and Janis Ozburn of Soda Springs, Idaho, and Mary and Bryan Scoresby of Palmer, Alaska. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; his sister, Betty Gorton of Soda Springs, Idaho; and by his special friend, Jackie Moore of Soda Springs, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and by a brother, Leslie Ozburn.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 19, 2009, at noon at the Hooper LDS Chapel in Soda Springs. The family will meet with friends Sunday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Sims Funeral Home in Soda Springs and on Monday at the church from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs with a military graveside service.
