Jesse "Jess" Heath

Jesse "Jess" Marquette Heath, 84, of Pingree, Idaho passed away Saturday, February 20, 2016 peacefully in his home. He was surrounded by his family and with much love.
Jesse was born March 28, 1931 in Pocatello, Idaho to Arthur Leroy and Dorothy Penelope Heath. Jesse attended Roosevelt School in Pocatello, Idaho. He later got a job at FMC on July 13, 1952, which was then named Wesvako at the time. He was 18 years old at that time. He worked there until October 1950, when he was laid off.
Jesse then joined the Army and served during the Korean War and was in the 56 Amphibious Armorial Division. He achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant.
In December of 1953 he was honorably discharged. He then joined the Pocatello National Guard for two years. He then worked for the rail road for a time.
On August 11, 1954 Jesse married Elizabeth "Bette" Jean Daniels. He then went back to work for FMC in Pocatello, where he worked for 39 years until he retired on June 1, 1993.
Together Jesse and Bette had three children, Jesse Marquette Heath Junior, Roger Gene Heath and Linda Ann Heath. They lived in Pocatello, Pingree, Fort Hall and then back to Pingree, where they made their home and lived out the rest of their lives.
Later on, they adopted their grandson, Barry Gene Monson Heath. Jesse and Bette were married for 54 years, until Bette was called home January 5, 2008.
Jesse was an avid fisherman and hunter, he really loved doing these things, he also loved camping, he would do these things at every opportunity. Jesse also really enjoyed being with his children and grandchildren.
Jesse was preceded in death by his wife, Bette; his parents; and four brothres, Roy J., Charlie R., Lee R. and Glen H. Heath.
He is survived by his children, Mark (Sandy), Roger (Connie), Linda and Barry (Kristin); nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; his brother, C. Jay Heath; and many nieces and nephews.
Jesse will be missed very much by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at the Pingree LDS Church. The family will meet with friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot and again on Wednesday at the church from 10-10:45. Interment will be in the Springfield Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the American Stewart Hoover Post #23. Dear heath family, i wanted to send my love and sympathy to you all, in the loss of your dear jesse. I and my family knew your family of art and dorothy, who lived next door to my family on Randolph ave. My name is june rupp "frazier". I remember jesse and all his brothers and uncle chuck.
