Larry Jack Etherington 72, husband of Shanna Etherington returned to the good Lord on Saturday, May 25, 2013, due to a 4-wheeler accident, doing what he loved. Our husband, dad, pa, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many was born February 17, 1941 in Ogden, Utah to Jack A. Etherington and Maurine Tree Etherington. He was the oldest of four boys. He attended Central Middle School and graduated from Ogden High School.
He married Shanna Ruth Olsen, August 27, 1962 at the Ivy House in Ogden. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he was serving in the Sunday School Presidency. He took out his endowments in the Logan LDS temple.
He had been employed as a supervisor in the maintenance department at Nucor Steel, he retired in 2007. He was elected as Oneida County Commissioner in 2009. At the time of his death, he was a committee chairman for the Boy Scouts of America and he was also serving on the school board. Three brothers, Craig (Diane) Etherington, Salt Lake City, Utah; Scott Etherington, Spokane, Washington; Randy (Liane) Etherington, Perry, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Maurine Etherington and one great grandson, Kasen Ellertson.
