Leslie Fay Amboh
POCATELLO - Leslie Fay Amboh, 31, passed away Monday, February 4, 2008, at a local care center.
She was born July 21, 1976, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Delilah Ann Ottogary and Lester Cordell Wetchie. She lived most of her childhood in Arbon Valley, where she was raised by her grandparents, Clyde and Cecelia Ottogary, and attended school in American Falls. She also attended Chemewa Indian School in Oregon and the Kicking Horse Job Corps in Montana.
She married Jason Amboh August 18, 1999, in Fort Hall, Idaho, and they moved to Wyoming for awhile. She was a member of the Native American Church, along with other spiritual beliefs. Leslie liked to play basketball and volleyball, watch relay races and pari-mutuel races, and spend time at the casino. She also enjoyed the outdoors and traveling to and from Wyoming. She liked to go camping, fishing, and even night fishing, hunting and gathering wood with her husband and family. She enjoyed watching her nieces and nephews as they were growing up and talking with family and friends. She liked to "cruise" and listen to music. She enjoyed joking around with all her friends.
She is survived by her husband, Jason Amboh, Boise, Idaho; father, Lester Wetchie, Arbon Valley, Idaho; sister, Delana Wetche, Boise, Idaho; sister, Twinkal Sky Tendoy, West Jordan, Utah; brother, Thunder Tendoy, Pocatello, Idaho; nephew, Cordell J. Wahtomy and niece, Gabriella Tendoy, both of Fort Hall, Idaho; grandmother, Belle Wetchie, Arbon Valley, Idaho; aunts, Dianne Ottogary, Arbon, Valley, Idaho, Jana Lee Meeks and Arlene Ortiz, Sharon Perry, Velda Perry, Glenda Perry, all of Fort Hall, Idaho, and Alfreda Meeks, Portland, Ore., Shane'a T. Deppe, Arbon Valley, Idaho, Billy Ottogary, Pocatello, Idaho, who she was raised with and considered them her sister and brother; cousins, Montes and Charleys from Idaho and New Mexico, Sanchezs from Portland, Ore., Ortiz, Meeks from Idaho, and numerous other cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. She was preceded in death by her mother, Delilah Tendoy, sisters, Nancy Wetchie Wahtomy and Jodell W. Small, maternal grandparents, Ernest Ottogary and Carrie Hope, grandfather, Ray Wetchie, uncles, Rodrick, David, Urvan and Raymond Wetchie, Dexter and Tommy Mosho and aunt, Melinda Mosho.
Traditional Native American services will be observed beginning with a viewing from Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, at the residence of her Aunt Dianne Ottogary in Arbon Valley. Leslie will remain there until 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008. Family and friends will then journey to Bannock Creek Cemetery for burial at 2 p.m. Arrangements are under the care of Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. Fourth Ave., Pocatello.
