Maureen Ann Craven
POCATELLO - Maureen A. Craven, 71, of Pocatello, Idaho, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly at her home.
She was born on November 28, 1938, in Spokane, Washington, to Wilfred E. and Lucille Margeret (Quigley) McGourin. She was the eldest of four children. Maureen attended Holy Names Academy in Spokane, Washington, then went to the University of Idaho in Moscow, where she earned her B.A. in English and music.  Maureen worked in education as a teacher for over 30 years. She retired from Pocatello School District No. 25 in 1997. Because of her devotion to education and to helping the people in it, she was president of Pocatello Education Association in 1982 and 1983. Among her hobbies, Maureen enjoyed cooking, doing crafts, sewing, nature and the outdoors. She loved to hike the Tetons. She was a Girl Scout camp director and liked to be involved in the community. She was appointed chairman of the Parks and Recreations Board. Maureen was a member of Chamber of Commerce and did volunteer work for various charitable organizations. Maureen also enjoyed having lunch once a month with the "Golden Girls." She also enjoyed playing the piano and  the organ. She shared her talent of music and played the pipe organ for St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Maureen married Jerry Kay Craven in June of 1960, but later divorced in 1975. She was preceded in death by her longtime companion, Richard Ford.  Devoted to her children and grandchildren, she had a wonderful sense of humor and was very patriotic, especially during the Olympic Games seasons.
Maureen is survived by her children, Raymond Dean Craven (Rebecca) of Ogden, Utah, Michael Shawn Craven of Ogden, Utah, and Sheila Worley (Darren) of Syracuse, Utah; as well as nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bill McGourin of Bend, Oregon, and Pat McGourin of Las Vegas, Nevada; and one sister, Colleen Casad, of Port Orchard, Washington

I'm so sorry to hear of Mo's passing. Mo and Dad had many wonderful years together and now they are together again. My favorite memories are of Mo and Dad on the piano and sax on New Years Eve.

We are so very sorry for your loss. Nothing compares to the loss of a mother. It takes years to deal with the pain of losing your mother but the one thing you must always remember is that she loved you with all her heart and her love for you was unconditional which is the purest love of all. Remember your mother as the loving women she was and forget the bad days or the unresolved issues. Truely there are no unresolved issues because moms fix everything long before the rest of us even catch on.
All our prays and love,
Cynthia Williamson-Otto & Cheryl Williamson-Andersen
