Michael Lish Obituary

BLACKFOOT - Michael Lyle Lish, 55, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at his home in Blackfoot.  
Mike was born April 15, 1955 in Pocatello, Idaho to Joseph Lyle Lish and Geraldine Louise Schubert. He attended school in Pocatello, graduating from Pocatello High School in 1973. He continued his education at Idaho State University receiving his L.P.N. in nursing.
Mike married Beverly Weeks, together they had a son, Jason. Mike and Beverly were later divorced. 
Mike joined the United States Navy and served his country in the Vietnam War, stationed in the Philippines and California. 
Mike worked the last seven years as a nurse at Bingham Memorial Hospital as a wound care specialist and for many years before that he worked at State Hospital South. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, karaoke, boxing, martial arts and was an avid guitar player.
Mike is survived by his son, Jason (Tia) Lish of Boise; father, Joseph of Pocatello; long time girlfriend, Tori Bradford of Sterling; brothers, Ricky Lish of Pocatello and Danny (Cindy) Whitworth of Pocatello; sisters, Sandra Pevney of Pocatello, Rose (Terry) Cannon of Pocatello, Becky (Lonnie) Liddle of Chubbuck, Christina Anderson of Pocatello, Penny Smith of Idaho Falls and Patty (Steve) Tobin of Idaho Falls; and Tori's children, Bryce, Brandi and Bailey Bradford.
Mike is preceded in death by his mom, Geraldine; brother in law, David Pevney; aunt, Karen Shubert; uncle, Ray Friend; cousins, Doug and Don Friend; and his grandparents, Everett and Audrey Shubert and Joseph and Beth Lish.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot. Family will meet with friends and relatives from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, December 20, 2010 and for one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Military rites will be provided by the American Legion Stewart Hoover Post #23. Interment will follow at the Mountain View Cemetery in Pocatello. I am very sorry for you loss. Mike was an exceptional person and nurse. He made students very comfortable and taught them so much. He was a good friend for several years. He will be missed greatly. Marlene Brinkerhoff
