Philip Hafner Obituary
July 27, 1944 - September 28, 2017
Pocatello-Philip S. Hafner, 73, passed away on September 28, 2017, surrounded by friends after a long illness. He was born on July 27, 1944, in Brooklyn, New York to Andrew J. Hafner and Enid (Edeen) Hafner. He was raised in Pocatello, Idaho and graduated from Pocatello High School in 1962. He attended Idaho State University. Philip married Kay A. Richards on June 3, 1969; six days later he left for Vietnam with the U.S. Army.
Philip's working career included being a signalman for the Union Pacific Railroad. He partnered with Kay to run Haf and Haf Collectibles. They enjoyed traveling to antique shows with their business.
Philip was an outdoors person. He enjoyed annual camping trips with Kay to Redfish Lake; and metal detecting. He also enjoyed going to flea markets and garage sales.
Philip was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kay and is survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017, at 2:00 P.M. at the overlook in front of the Idaho State Veterans Home, 1957 Alvin Ricken Dr., Pocatello, Idaho 83201.
