Richard Valentino Barbone
POCATELLO - Richard Valentino Barbone, affectionately known by his family as Richie or Squish, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2011.
Richie was born 16 weeks early on October 15, 2010, in Salt Lake City at the University of Utah Hospital. He spent the first five months of his life in the hospital so his body could grow strong enough to be released home.
Richie was a fighter and he loved to snuggle. Recently he had graduated to taking a bottle. His older sister and brother love him and doted after him constantly. Richard was part of the Navajo tribe; Ashii'i clan. His paternal grandparents are Loka Dine.
Richie is survived by his mother, Lauren Nichols; father, LeeRoss Barbone; grandparents, Richard and Katie Nichols, Pocatello, Valentino and Nellie Barbone, Daltons Pass, N.M.; sister, Mya; brother, Delvin; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by JoAnne T. Healy, great-grandmother, and Nellie Largo, great-great-great-grandmother.
Everyone is welcome to share in the celebration of his life. If you met Richie, you were touched by an angel.
Funeral Mass will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 20, 2001, at Holy Spirit Catholic Community's St. Anthony Chapel on 504 N. Seventh Avenue in Pocatello. A rosary service will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2011, at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Road, with a viewing one hour prior to the rosary. Interment to follow at a later date.
