Robert "Bob" Dean Broberg
December 11, 1937 - November 5, 2018
Robert Dean Broberg passed away on November 5, 2018 at the age of 80 in Santa Clara, Utah.
Bob was born December 11, 1937 in Pocatello, Idaho to Paul and Evelyn Petersen Broberg. He graduated from Pocatello High School, class of 1956.
After attending Idaho State University and Brigham Young University, he began his life-long career in the retail gift and floral business. He purchased Atkin Florist in 1961. He attended the Hutchinson School of Floral Design in Portland, Oregon and graduated first in his class. Bob served as president of the Idaho State Florist Association and was awarded life time membership. He was a master at floral design and served as F.T.D. district chairman.
On April 20, 1961 Bob married Mary Ann Buck in the LDS Logan, Utah temple. They raised their three daughters-Jan, Karen, and Susan-while living in Pocatello. Bob was a life-long active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served a 2 ½ year mission to Norway with his identical twin brother, Richard (Dick), from 1958-1960. He served in several bishoprics, high councils and as a counselor in the Idaho State University Stake Presidency and in many other callings. He also enjoyed his service as a patron in the St. George Utah temple.
Bob was a member of the Pocatello Rotary Club and was a Paul Harris fellow and served as the piano accompanist of for 34 years. He also belonged to the Pocatello Chamber of Commerce. He and his wife, Mary Ann, were honored as the grand marshall of the Pocatello Christmas Lights Parade for their many years of community service. The floral business was sold in 1999 and in 2006 Bob and Mary Ann moved to St. George, Utah. Bob had countless friends and beloved extended family members, all of whom he made feel special and loved. All of his grandchildren knew that they were his "best friend".
Bob is survived by his wife Mary Ann, daughters Jan Broberg, Karen (Matthew) Campbell, and Susan Broberg, 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; sisters Dorothy (Bill) Barnard and Geraldine Broberg. He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brother, and step-granddaughter (Tess Felt).
One service will be held on Friday, November 9, 2018 at 12:00 noon in Santa Clara, Utah at the LDS church at 3040 Santa Clara Drive with a 10:00am viewing prior to the service.
A second service will commence in Pocatello, Idaho on Monday November 12, 2018 at 12:00 noon in the Pocatello 2nd Ward church building at 135 South 7th Avenue with a viewing on Sunday, November 11, from 6:00 to 8:00 at Manning Wheatley Funeral Chapel, (510 N. 12th Ave.) and at 10:00 a.m. at the church prior to services.
The burial will be at the Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Pocatello Idaho.

I didn't know him personally. But I bet he was a very wonderful man, just his smile in that picture brought a smile to mine. I could see the joy in his eyes. Reading his obituary I could just tell he loved his family. He is loving you all from above. Much Love, Elle

I will never forget how kind Bob was when he helped my wife and I order flowers for our wedding. He went above and beyond the call of duty and instead of "just selling us flowers" he provided an "experience". My husband and I were so stressed with the cost of the wedding as well as the pressure of guests, family and trying to please everyone on our blessed day. It was like Bob knew how to provide relief like no one else could and my husband went back to him for other occasions several more times years after our wedding....by himself. He always came home with a smile on his face. RIP Mr Broberg!
