Sheryl Thomson Obituary

Sheryl Thomson, of St. George, Utah passed away July 12, 2025 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.

Sheryl was born on March 29, 1968 in Birmingham, Alabama to Lonnie and Sharon Kiser.

Sheryl lived in various places in her youth including Birmingham Alabama, Henderson Tennessee, Beaverton Oregon, and Blackfoot, Idaho.

She graduated from Aloha High School in Beaverton, Oregon. She then attended Ricks College and received her associates degree in office management.

On August 18, 1987 she married Curtis Gibson. To this union two children were born, Shelby and Camille. They later divorced.

On March 11, 2006 she married Wayne Thomson in Pocatello, Idaho.

Sheryl was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held various callings. She was also very active in the Boy Scouts of America and received many awards and metals including the Silver Beaver Award. She also enjoyed bowling and spent many years in a league. She loved her annual trips with her son.

She worked at the INEL, at I.N.T.E.C, and later at Edward Jones in Idaho Falls as office manager.

In her free time she enjoyed traveling, sewing, crafts, repainting furniture. She loved spending time with her family and let's just say Amazon will miss her!

Sheryl is survived by her husband, Wayne; children, Shelby Steven Gibson, of Blackfoot, Camille Ann (Dylan Powell) Gibson, of Brighton, CO; Stepchildren, Savannah Dianne (Matthew) Carrol of Tallahassee, FL,

Riley (Chelsy) Thomson, of Thomas, ID. Parents, Lonnie and Sharron of Kemp, TX. Siblings, "Larry" Lawrence Kiser, of St. George, UT, David Wayne Kiser, of Salina, TX, and Shelley Elizabeth Ensminger, of Camp, TX. Also surviving are her 8 precious grandchildren, Kaidence, Berklee, Trexton, Beckett, Estelle, Preslee, and Calder.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Hugh Kiser.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, July 18 2025 at Hawker Funeral Home in Blackfoot. A viewing for family and friends will be held Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 5-7 p.m at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave. and again on Friday for an hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Riverside-Thomas Cemetery.
