Steven E. Swore
June 26, 1950 - April 24, 2013
Steven Eugene Swore, 62, passed away on April 24, 2013, at the family farm.
Steve was born on June 26, 1950 in Pocatello, Idaho, to Lloyd H. and Viola Mae Swore. He was the second of four children to be born to the couple. He grew up on the Tyhee flat. He attended school at Hawthorne, Tyhee, and graduated from Highland High in 1968. He was a lefty and loved baseball. He played Little League Baseball on the Garrett Freight Lines team. He was active in the 4H program and spent many years in the Busy Farmers 4H club. He was also very active in the Highland chapter of the Future Farmers of America. He attended Idaho State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business in 1973. After graduation he had several offers for employment but chose to remain on the farm. He enjoyed being close to the land and spent his entire life working with his father and family in the farming business. He was an accomplished gardener, made some of the best homemade bread anywhere and loved to can. He loved animals and they loved him in return. He loved corvettes and John Deere tractors. He was a man of impeccable integrity, extremely thoughtful, and a good steward of God's earth.
He met the love of his life, Brenda Paulette Hawkins, in 1985. They were married on March 14, 1987. They chose to reside at the family farm where they live and he worked until the time of his passing. They have a daughter, Stephanie May Swore, who they named after Gramma Swore. He was a loving husband and father.
He is survived by this wife Brenda and daughter Stephanie, his father Lloyd, brothers Jerry(Janiel)and Timothy(Maria), sister Jennifer(Chris) and many nieces and nephews and all the farm animals that he loved and cared for. He was preceded in death by his mother, Viola May.

I am just hearing of the passing of Steve - a long time and beloved friend of mine and my family. It is with sadness we
send our prayers of love to the Swore family. And it is with fond memories of our times together in college. And most recently, it is with grateful hearts that Steve served as an honorary pall bearer at our Mom Edna Gunter's memorial service. She always held him close to her heart. A kind and beloved soul. Friends. Marsia Gunter and the entire Gunter Family

Sorry to hear of his passing, I knew him from Highland High School F.F.A. when Horace Morril was the Instructor. If my memory serves me, he was President of the Highland Chapter some time during 1968-1970 period.

I am so saddened to learn of the death of Steve. I remember his easy going personality and his down-to-earth kindness to everyone. We went to high school and Idaho State University together. What a great person! I know he is up in heaven working The Lord's fields and driving back in his old Corvette. I will miss him.
