Terrill Banbury Obituary

Terrill A. Banbury
March 6, 1955 - March 6, 2017
Terrill A. Banbury, "Terry," passed away March 6, 2017, at his home following an honorable and heroic battle with cancer.
Terry was born in Winslow, Arizona on March 6, 1955, to C. William and Bobbette E. Banbury.
Terry graduated from Payson High School in 1974, where he lettered in baseball, and football. He was a very active athlete and enjoyed watching and playing sports all of his life.
Terry joined the Army National Guard in November, 1988, transferred to the Army Reserves in 2000 and continued his love of the Army through active duty service from 2003 to 2008. In October 2008, he was accepted in the AGR program and continued his service as an AGR soldier through 2016. In May of 2016, he retired for medical reasons.
Terry married the love of his life, Kandice L. Rock, on December 31, 1994. A year later they were sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on January 6th, 1996.
Together they had 6 children; Tasha, Kameron, Kelsey, Skyler, Kassadie, and Isabelle.
Terry worked at many jobs in the Blackfoot area. He started as the manager at Maverick when he first moved to town. Then worked at Basic American for many years. He attended Sage Trucking School and started driving for May Trucking Company several months before being called to active duty in the Army.
Terry was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served as an LDS Chaplin in the Idaho National Guard and was an Elders Quorum Teacher.
Terry's main interests have been spending time with his family, traveling, and the military. When he wasn't at the Army, he loved to build military models and could work for hours on perfecting them. He also loved history and especially trying to quiz others on his knowledge.
Terry had a gift of laughter. He loved to make others laugh. He told jokes, teased and acted out, just for a laugh and to make those around him happy. He also loved to cook and bake. It was a great joy to make pumpkin pies from scratch at holidays and make his family happy. Then he would take most of his pies to his neighbors and friends.
Terry is survived by his spouse; Kandice L. Banbury. His bothers; Charlie (Robin) Banbury, of Tooele, Utah, David (Priscilla) Banbury, of Kanab, Utah. His sister; Janie (Shane) Yorgason, of Gilbert, Arizona. His Children; Jessica McClain, of Arizona, Nathan Banbury of Boise, Idaho, Jay Banbury of Draper, Utah, Jon (Keri) Banbury of Eagle Mountain, Utah, Trevor (Samantha) Vandever, of Rupert, Idaho, J. As well as 8 grandchildren, beloved in-laws; Renn and Marlene Rock of Blackfoot, Idaho and a beloved adopted soldier; Zachary (Gabriel) Newman, of Hill Air Force Base, Utah.
He is preceded in death by his parents; C. William and Bobbette E. Banbury. His child; Kelsey L. Banbury.

Living in a small town and be rough on teenagers. Having Terry and his family to help me through it was the best thing that could have happened to me and many others that crossed his path. What a kind sweet guy he was. He always had a smile and nice things to say. I wish I would have stayed more in touch with him and got to know him as a man, husband and father. I know he is missed by every soul that had the pleasure of knowing him. God Bless you Terry and R.I.P.

Terry made friends where ever he went! I met Terry in AZ. He was a part of the singles group that I hung out with. One time I was with a group that were trying to doorbell ditch his house (of guys he rented too) and we leave a special treat from a secret group. We were trying to figure out a way to get up to the door without them catching us and we were sneaking around (before his military days he must had a sixth sense) because he was hiding in his bushes waiting to ambush us. He jumped out and SCARED us to death! I will never forget that day. Terry always new when someone needed a hug and he was always there to lift anyone who needed it. When I read he was a Chaplain, I knew that he had to be amazing at that! I am sorry to see this obituary - what an amazing man - you'll be missed Terry!
