Bernice Varner Obituary

Bernice Varner, 94, of Boise, Idaho, died November 26, 2009. There will be a Private Family Viewing from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 3, 2009 at Cloverdale Funeral Home. Graveside Services for friends and family will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 3, 2009 at Terrace Lawn Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of Cloverdale Funeral Home. Bernice Mitchell Varner was born September 19, 1915 in Cove, Oregon and raised in Baker, Oregon. She met and married Wallace L. Varner on July 14, 1934 in Payette, Idaho. They moved to La Grande, Oregon, where two daughters were born, Barbara and Joanne. Later they moved to Boise, Idaho where two sons were born, Mitchell and Jerry. At her passing, Bernice was survived by their four children, Barbara Murphy and her husband, Sherman; Joanne Gonzales and her husband, Tony; Mitchell Varner and his wife, Connie; and Jerry Varner and his wife, Veda; 11 grandchidren, 26 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Merle Hanbyn; and three brothers, David Mitchell, Delbert Mitchell and Clair Mitchell. The family would like to take this time to give Special Thanks to all of the dedicated caregivers in Bernice's life who went the extra mile to put a smile on her face and make her as comfortable as possible.
