Connie McClure Obituary

Connie J. McClure
June 28, 1941 - April 27, 2015
Constance "Connie" JoAnn McClure (Case), 73, passed away at home in Caldwell on April 27, 2015. Connie was born on June 28, 1941 in Twin Falls, ID, to Blanche and Henry Case.
Connie attended the Valley High School in Eden-Hazelton, Idaho. She was raised on a farm and enjoyed riding horses in the Jerome County Posse. She dearly loved all animals.
Upon graduating from Valley High School she married her high school sweetheart, Gene McClure on July 3, 1959. Gene joined the US Air Force following their marriage and they moved to Fairfield, CA. There they were blessed to have their first son, Anthony, who was born 2 years to the day of their wedding date. Following the Air Force, they returned back to the Eden-Hazelton area where they farmed for a few years. During this time, they were blessed with their second son, Brent.
Gene and Connie also lived in Idaho Falls where Connie worked at Smitty's Pancake House and really enjoyed cooking for them. They moved from there to Genesee where they met, Maxine and David Martin, who they have enjoyed a 45 year friendship with, and who were in fact, there at the time of Connie's passing.
Following Genesse, the family moved to Caldwell where they reside currently. Connie found work at West Valley Medical Center where she worked as a phlebotomist for the next 26 years. Once she retired from this position, her and Gene became volunteers at the hospital until she could no longer do this.
Gene and Connie have enjoyed 55 years of marriage. Connie was always the first person to help anyone and she worked hard her whole life with a smile on her face. She was a wonderful sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend by all that knew her. She enjoyed being outdoors and hunting with her father and Gene for many years. She was an avid gardener. Gene and Connie owned a cabin in Cascade, Idaho, where they enjoyed 26 years of being in the mountains with family.
The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to her caregivers, Linda Sass, Penny Steadham and St. Alphonsus Hospice Care. They were so kind and dedicated and their compassion will always be remembered. Words cannot express what a true blessing they were to our family in Connie's final days.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Henry & Blanche Case and her beloved dogs, Lady, Shorty and Butch.
She is survived by her husband, Gene; her brother and his spouse, Philip Case (Madelyn) of Anacortes, WA; her brother-in-law and spouse, Marvin McClure (Goldie); her two sons and their spouses, Anthony "Tony" McClure (Lisa) of Meridian, ID, and Brent McClure (Chris) of Gainesville, VA; her granddaughter and spouse, Céline Acord (Joel); her two grandsons, Brandon and Sean McClure; several nieces and nephews; a multitude of close friends; and her cherished Rat Terrier, Flash.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at Dakan Funeral Chapel located at 504 S Kimball Ave, Caldwell. Graveside services will be held the same day at 3:00pm at Sunset Memorial Park located at 2296 Kimberly Rd, Twin Falls. Connie was a very special person--warm, caring,a good "mother hen" for Tony & Brent. She was also a good friend, busy all the time with either crafts, her garden, her work and especially her family. She will be missed.
