David Anderson Obituary

David James Anderson
1935-2018
On the afternoon of January 5, 2018, David James Anderson succumbed to Parkinson's disease.
David was born on April 25, 1935 to Gus Carr and Adrienne Teyonne Lovette Anderson. He was the first born son of two and was raised in Pocatello, Idaho. David, his brother, Stephen Carr, and his mother followed Gus to several military locations around the country during the 2nd World War, eventually landing in Europe after the fall of Berlin. He attended schools in Western Germany and Denmark, where he was engaged in many adventures as a member of "The Royal Knights of Mischief." Dave and his family returned to Pocatello after the war and he graduated from Pocatello High School in 1953. While attending Poky, he met the love of his life, Dixie Ray Young. David attended and graduated from the University of Idaho, where he was actively involved in his fraternity, social life, as well as playing on the Vandall football and baseball teams. Dave and Dixie were married on August 20, 1957 and shared in the birth of three sons: Michael, John and Stephen.
Dave was an outstanding athlete his entire life, from the time he took ballet lessons as a small boy, through high school and college. He was the 1971 Idaho State handball champion, finally reaching the top after several 2nd and 3rd place finishes.
In 1958, David served his country as a commissioned officer with the 14th Transportation Battalion, Infantry Division, until his honorable discharge. He then went into the title business with his father, helping to run the Pocatello Title Company. He became the president of the company and ran American Land Title until it was merged with Alliance Title in 1995. He and Dixie moved to Boise and have lived there ever since.
David was a loving and generous man that positively impacted the lives of so many. A heartfelt thank you goes out to those who helped him; from caregivers, friends, colleagues and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dixie and his many animal friends.
David often said, "Give more than you get and you'll get more than you give." David James Anderson gave of himself and the world in a better place because of it. He will be greatly missed.

Dear John, Michael and Stephen,
What a wonderful legacy he has left in you.
Dave was so professional but yet humble, honest, kind and made you feel like you could talk with him about anything.
If there were more like him in the world, it would be a much better place to live in.
My heart is with you at this time.
Miss You, Joy Denning
