Dave passed away in Boise on October 27th due to complications arising from a blood disease. Dave leaves behind his wife of 31 years, 3 children and 2 grandchildren. Dave was a manly man - he loved camping, shooting his guns, riding his Harley, and using his own two hands to build/repair just about anything. He was blessed with many siblings. To hear Dave tell his life story it began at the age of 15 in Chicago when he met the Matias family - Nanny, Pops and their 5 children took Dave in as their own. He remained close to his Jeka siblings and enjoyed trips back to Chicago for family gatherings. Dave served his country in the Navy as a Journeyman Machinist; a skill he perfected in a life long career. Dave valued his children and his hard-working wife. Dave loved to party with the people he loved most - his grown kids, his wife, and friends who were more like family. Having grandchildren gave Dave peace and patience he'd never had before - and he was a great Papa. There are truly no words to express the sorrow felt by all who knew and loved Dave. We love you Dad. We will be having a party in honor of Dave's life. December 13th, 2014 at 5pm at the Elks Lodge in Boise. 6608 Fairview Ave., Boise, ID
